Why You Need a High-Endurance Dash Cam SD Card

Standard memory cards are not built for dash cams. Because cameras use continuous loop recording, regular cards will burn out quickly. Here is why investing in a specialized High-Endurance MicroSD card is critical:

✅ Built for Continuous Overwriting:

High-Endurance SD cards are engineered to survive thousands of hours of constant read/write cycles, ensuring your camera never randomly stops recording or drops vital footage.

✅ Optimized for 4K Video:

Fast writing speeds (U3/V30 ratings) guarantee smooth, lag-free recording for multi-channel 4K resolution dash cams, capturing fast-moving license plates clearly.

✅ Extreme Heat Resistance:

Specifically designed for harsh KSA summers, these memory cards operate flawlessly in extreme temperatures (up to 85°C / 185°F), preventing catastrophic data corruption while parked in the sun.

✅ Prevents Formatting Errors:

A premium card reduces the annoying "Format SD Card" voice prompts and drastically extends the overall lifespan of your vehicle security system.

MicroSD Memory Cards FAQ

Why do I need a special memory card for a dash cam?
Dash cams continuously record and overwrite data, which destroys standard cards quickly. You must use 'High-Endurance' cards specifically designed to withstand the stress of continuous video writing.
What storage capacity (GB) is right for me?
If you have a 4K dash cam or a 3-channel system, we highly recommend a 128GB or 256GB card. For standard 1080p cameras, a 64GB card is usually sufficient.
How many hours of recording can a 128GB card hold?
On average, a 128GB card holds about 8 to 10 hours of 4K video, or up to 20 hours of 1080p footage, before the camera begins overwriting the oldest clips.
What happens when the memory card gets full?
All our cameras feature Loop Recording. Once the memory is full, the camera automatically deletes the oldest video clip to record the new one over it, so you never have to delete files manually.
How often should I format my memory card?
To ensure optimal performance and prevent corrupted video files, we highly recommend formatting the memory card through the dash cam settings or the mobile app once every 1 to 2 months.
What do the 'U3' and 'V30' symbols on the card mean?
These ratings guarantee a minimum write speed of at least 30 MB/s. This ultra-fast speed is absolutely essential for recording smooth, stutter-free 4K video without dropping frames.
Does the extreme Saudi summer heat affect the card?
Standard cards will melt or fail. High-Endurance cards are built with heat-resistant technologies, allowing them to operate safely in dashboard temperatures that can reach up to 85°C (185°F).
Can I use SanDisk cards with VIOFO or VANTRUE?
We strongly advise against it. SanDisk cards are not fully compatible with VIOFO and VANTRUE dash cams and often cause recording errors. You should always use official brand-specific memory cards to ensure stable performance.
