Firmware update

Since the dashcam M550 Pro of different batches adapts different materials, please refer to this page to download the corresponding firmware according to the current firmware version on your dashcam.

Note:

  • If you used the wrong firmware to update, the dash cam screen will go white or striped. 
  • You can update to the original firmware to solve it.
  • Please backup all recordings and important files from the Micro-SD, the update will delete all the files & recordings on the Micro-SD.
  1. Format Micro-SD card
    You can do this by going into the camera system settings.

    Note: Make sure to backup your recordings if you need them before formatting the Micro-SD card)

  2. Check the Current Firmware Version
    Go to system settings and select the Version, please remember it.

  3. Download the Latest Firmware
    You can download the latest firmware version from here.

  4. Copy the Firmware to the Micro-SD card
    Please insert the Micro-SD card to your laptop or computer so you can access the Micro-SD card, and copy the firmware file named "SigmastarUpgradeSD.bin" to it.

    Note:
    - Do not create any new folder on the Micro-SD card to save the firmware file.
    - Simply copy and paste the file directly to the Micro-SD card.
    - Please make sure that the firmware file name doesn't get changed. Otherwise, the camera will not recognize the firmware update.
  5. Power off/on & Updating
    - Turn OFF the dashcam.
    - Insert the Micro-SD card with the latest firmware file into the camera.
    - Turn ON the camera and press and hold the M key.
    - Release the M key after the camera enters the upgrade process.
    - Once the firmware is updated, the camera will turn ON automatically.

    Note:
    -The firmware update may take up to about 1 minute.
    -Make sure the POWER does NOT get disconnected while the firmware is being updated.

  6. Format Micro-SD card
    You must FORMAT the Micro-SD card after updating, otherwise, the dashcam will update again when the next power-on. Please go to the system setting menu, there is a function named “Format” in the last menu and select OK.

  7. Check the Latest Firmware Version
    Power on the dashcam again and check the latest firmware version by going into the camera’s System Settings → Version.

Now you have Upgraded your dash camera firmware successfully.
